What is this blog all about? Well... it's about a bit of this and a bit of that. Pieces that I am working on. Pieces that inspire me. Good finds and bad. My family of course! And parts of life that are ordinary and fascinating.I like to pass on good finds... Like books, food, art, music and fashion. I hope that you do not find me to much of a bore here, I will try and keep it simple.

put your money where your heart is...

hellllllllllooooooo.

today i decided to do something about my heart ache and shock after reading the news this morning.

i think we are looking at these images. reading these stories and feeling sad. shock. fear. anger etc... and i think that we are feeling these feelings and then of course moving on with our day. maybe until we check the news again. or hear a conversation about it. an i get it. we all have to live life. but we all know deep down that everyone of those hurt could have easily been you or i. or someone that we love.
i grew up going to the marathon. so i am absolutely sure it could have been one of my sisters, myself if it happened 15years ago.
everyone has their own way of dealing with these things. my way of dealing with such a tragedy, is actually doing something. i cannot just sit back and not do something!!! it's not in my personality. it is definitely not in my character and the way i was raised. well. hellllll. i am a bostonian! makes perfect sense.

i chose three different charities to donate to this morning. the amount that i would spend on a dinner out this weekend. or maybe a weeks coffee out at a cafe ( i make coffee at home but maybe you don't.)
or possibly just a couple of days of packing your lunch for work. you get by meaning here.

these people. some are families, 2 or three people in one family. their lives are changed forever. i know this. you know this. so maybe with knowing the gravity of this truth, you can and will help.

if you do not feel comfortable donating to a single organization then here is a main one set up by Mayor Thomas Menino: http://onefundboston.org

this was taken on my last birthday in front of cafe chloe. i bought a few of these t-shirts at the airport for myself, cora and a few friends. it's seriously one of my absolute favorite things i own.
